A woman in the White House? It's
about time! As we barrel through yet another presidential election year,
preparing to cast our votes in favor of one of only two viable candidates,
StageQ and author Mark Eisman are asking that we consider what it
would be like to have an additional, and unconventional, alternative.
StageQ presents the premiere of the play
Dodo for President, by New York playwright Mark Eisman. A woman
is the front-running candidate to become President of the United States. A
big-mouth friend from her past comes out of the woodwork, telling stories
that might derail the candidate’s chance of winning. The play is a smart,
humane comedy about love, friendship, politics, and telling the truth.
Playwright Mark Eisman attended meetings in Madison to assist with the
production, which features local actors: Greg Converse, Mickey Crocker,
James Francis, Stephanie Monday, Heather Renken, and Daina Zemliauskas as
Dorothy Adamson.
Performance dates are June 11-26, 2004,
at the Bartell Theater, 113 E. Mifflin St., Madison, WI.
