are now on sale for StageQ, Inc.'s production of THE EIGHT:
Reindeer Monologues, by Jeff Goode.
THE
EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues is a dark Christmas comedy that
looks at the man in the red suit from the reindeers' perspectives. A furor
erupts when a scandal unveils corruption and perversion with eyes looking
towards Saint Nick. Christmas will never be the same!
Told in a series of eight witty monologues, each of Santa's flying
hoofed critters confesses truth behind the reported shocking
allegations. This play is filled with penetrating humor, thanks to
Director Michael Bruno who brings his vast acting, directing, and
producing experiences to StageQ for the first time.
To give you an inside look at the personality makeup of the reindeer, I
would like to introduce the sleigh team. Cupid, played by Jeffrey
Brunnbauer, tells his freaked-out in-your-face story with a wink, a leer
and hilariously over-the-top zeal. Blitzen (Shoshanna Hill) is a
beautiful, radical feminist who turns the event into an opportunity to
advance her political agenda…destroy Santa! Then there is Dasher,
played by John Kremm, who is the personification of machismo. Donn Moen (Comet)
plays a stag's stag who insists on the saintliness in Santa Claus.
Stephanie Monday is the vivacious, seductive Vixen, in other words
trouble with a capital T! StageQ in also proud to have Melissa Nearman and
Carrie Aikman as Dancer, who take turns performing a
martini-lapping doe. Beth Shippert is the self-absorbed Hollywood
(formerly Prancer.) And finally we have Kent Walker as Donner, the
suicidal weakling who divulges just how far a reindeer will go for a place
on the team. Sarah Carroll and Karen Saari add their talents as
understudies.
Performances are Thursdays (December 6, 13, and 20),
Fridays (December 7, 14, and 21), and Saturdays (December 8, 15, and 22).
